Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!  I was very happy to celebrate Easter with my family and friends.  I didn't get to out for Easter lunch with the rest of my family but I did help with coloring Easter eggs.  Here I am with Steve while we colored the eggs.  The end result was really very pretty.  There has also been a lot of chocolate bunnies around the house but my people insist that I can't have chocolate.  Too bad, they do look yummy.  Happy Easter and happy spring to everyone!

My New Haircut!

    

I got my hair cut today.  I was long over due to have my hair done.  I'd been growing it long so I could spend a lot of time hanging outside during the winter.  However, now that spring has arrived and it has started to warm up, it was time to get a spring haircut.  Going to get my hair cut was a great adventure.  I was able to hang out with a bunch of other dogs and the nice people a Big Moose Grooming who made me look so pretty.  Here you can see a before and after photos.  Now I look a lot more like an airedale!

Nor'easter 2010

This has been an amazing weekend.  Here in New Jersey we were hit with a powerful Nor'easter.  It rained non stop from Friday into Sunday.  On Sunday afternoon my person took me for a ride around the small towns of northern NJ.  It took us a long time to get anywhere because so many roads were flooded.  Here are some photos of me posing by the flooded lakes.    You can also see a video of the racing water.
Usually this is a calm quiet waterfall.

Seeing all of this was very exciting but I hope the flood waters recede soon.  My people are very lucky that they had only a few inches of water in the basement.   I know that a lot of people were not so lucky and have significant damage to their homes.  Hopefully the sun will be out soon.

Favored Scottish Terrier Wins Westminster Title

Well it is too bad that an Airedale didn't make it into the Best in Show competition at Westminster (the Airedale came in 4th in the Terrier group).  But it is nice that a Scottish Terrier did win Best in Show!  Sadie is very nice looking but my person reassures me that she thinks I have a sweeter smile!

Once again, it has been a while since I posted to my blog but I've been busy.  We've had a few snow storms, which have been a lot of fun (even if my people are tired of snow).  In between storms I went to the groomers where I had my hair done.  I didn't get clipped since I love to spend time outside but I did get this nice fluffy hair doo (and pink bow!) that everyone seems to like.  I've also been to the vet where I learned that I have a thyroid condition and will need to take medication for the rest of my life.  On the upside, with every pill comes a serving of cheese!  This thyroid condition also explains why I keep gaining weight.  I'm currently 93 pounds!  My people have put me on a diet and exercise regimen.  I'm not too happy about this.  However, I have been watching the Airedales being shown in the Westminster Dog Show (which I have linked to on my blog in a separate post) and I do see that compared to them I'm a bit out of shape.  In my next post, I hope to report that I've lost some weight...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  I've been enjoying the holiday season and the cold spell that we are in.  My person spent a week in warm and sunny Costa Rica.  I missed her but I don't think I would like Costa Rica--it is too hot for me.  I'm happy that she is back now but can't figure out why she won't spend hours outside with me in the snow.

Here you can see me with our Christmas tree, I thought it was great that they brought into the house a tree for me to take naps under!   I was very curious about all of those ornaments so they had to make sure that I didn't try to steal any.

I've also been going for walks in the snow, which is great fun. Here you can see me on one of my hikes.  I've also posted a photo of the beach in Costa Rica.  I don't know why everyone thinks it is so great, it looks pretty hot to me, I prefer snow!
